Maintenance Person

The Role:

The Maintenance person is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, plastering, painting, woodwork, and general upkeep of the facility. This role ensures the proper functioning of all building systems, promptly addresses maintenance requests, and helps maintain a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures.
    • Identify and rectify leaks, blockages, and other plumbing issues.
    • Perform electrical repairs and installations, including wiring, circuit breakers, and lighting.
    • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and ensure safe operation of electrical systems.
    • Maintain compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
    • Paint interiors and exteriors as needed, ensuring high-quality finishes.
    • Conduct routine inspections and touch-ups to maintain aesthetics.
    • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
    • Perform preventative maintenance to minimize potential issues.
    • Address maintenance requests from staff and occupants in a timely manner.
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
    • Ensure work areas are clean, secure, and safe at all times.
    • Comply with company policies and regulations, including health and safety standards.

    Required skills and abilities:

    • Proven experience in maintenance work, specifically in plumbing, electrical, plastering, painting, and woodwork.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects as needed.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required to address urgent maintenance needs.
