The Role:

ESS Ltd. is a leading player in the Maltese electrical sector, delivering innovative solutions across residential, commercial, and institutional projects. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate and driven Lighting Designer & Sales Executive to join our dynamic team.

Reporting to the Projects Manager, the selected candidate will play a key role in both client engagement and creative lighting design, contributing to the continued success of ESS. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a rewarding career that blends design expertise with sales performance.

• Understand client requirements and develop tailored lighting concepts and design solutions
• Manage and convert incoming sales leads into successful business opportunities
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients through professional and proactive communication
• Prepare detailed quotations and proposals aligned with client needs
• Actively follow up on leads and quotations to maximise conversion rates
• Negotiate terms and successfully close sales agreements
• Monitor personal sales targets and performance metrics
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless project execution from concept to delivery
• Stay updated on industry trends, products, and lighting technologies

Required skills and abilities:

• Understanding of lighting design principles (e.g. ambient, task, accent lighting)
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and plans
• Commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Creative flair with a keen eye for design, aesthetics, and detail
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects
• Proven sales ability with a target-driven mindset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building abilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive attitude
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new products and technologies
• Knowledge in Interior Design, Lighting Design, or a related field will be considered an asset
• Proficiency in MS Office and general computer applications
• Knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Dialux or similar
• Previous experience in sales and/or design roles will be considered an asset
